Allphones is once again the proud major sponsor of
the NSW Surf Life Saving State Championships, being
held first the first time at Ocean Beach-Umina.
2013 is the eighth year Allphones has been the major sponsor of this event - the largest junior sporting event of its kind in Australia. In 2012 Kingscliff Beach attracted more than 6000 individual competitors from more than 100 clubs making it a huge success.
This year the move to the Central Coast will be even bigger with 9000 competitors expected across both weekends and 12,000 spectators expected each day.
Competition will commence with the State’s most talented junior lifesavers kick-starting the championships from Friday 1 March to Sunday 3 March.
The following weekend the Masters and Open competition will commence from Wednesday 6 March to Sunday 10 March.
The Allphones NSW Surf Life Saving Championships provides the 75,000 Surf Life Saving NSW members from 129 clubs an opportunity to compete against the leading top athletes from across the state.
Competition will be fierce with our leading surf lifesavers battling it out to defend titles, break records and aim to take home gold for their club. Medals are awarded for a variety of events including ironman and ironwoman, beach sprints, board rescue and surf ski relays.
Other than being the
pinnacle event for every NSW surf sports athlete, the
Allphones NSW Surf Life Saving Championships play an
enormously important role in the development of
grassroots participation within surf lifesaving in
NSW.
The Championships is only open to active surf lifesavers in the open and masters sections, and to nippers who are affiliated with a surf club in the junior section.
The Championships provide a perfect opportunity to reward lifesavers and is an important - and much loved - event for NSW surf lifesavers.
Allphones is incredibly proud to support the hard work of the volunteer lifesavers who keep our beaches safe each summer.
